Could someone tell me if my 85 gs with a 12a has some sort of rev limiter (other than the buzzer)

I have a old ford that I took down to the 4way by my house and I would spin brodies on gravel on pavement, and I really got it whiping around and flew backwards and hit dry pavement and it stalled the motor and spun it backwords and destroyed the cam and pushrods

and today I did the same thing with my 7 in fear that I would do the same thing and hurt something in the motor (I don't know what, but something) so I pushed the clutch forgeting that my right foot was to the floor and then I glanced at the tach and saw that it was pegged does any one know what could of happend or did when that happend


also I have another Q
I was under my car the other day and there is a little black round canester about 1 1/2" by 2 1/2" with 2 hoses, 1 going in one side 1 out the other, thats the fuel filter right

 

Sounds like the fuel filter. It should be more toward the rear of the car..... just in front of the gas tank.

Hope your motor is alright.

 

yah the thing I was talking about was about 9" in front of the gas tank
