i have a really stupid question

ive been tryin to find it and either i passed over it or it hasnt been asked...keep in mind, im new to RX-7's...What is the difference between the GSL and the GSL-SE...

Alos, another one...My 7 runs great, most of the time, but it has an intermentin(sp?) problem where it basicly falls flat on its face at upper RPMS. at first it was only in 3rd gear and in OD (i have an automatice trans ) but now it does it in ever gear.....any help would be appreciated...

well the gsl has all the options, loaded , lsd , and rear disk brakes, the gsl-se has all the options and a fuel injected 13b and makes about 35 more hp, the brakes are also a lil better then the gsl.

The only models with the 13B are the 84 and 85 GSL SE.

i know i have the 12a

The fuel filter is brand new and there wasnt any airfilter in the airbox (i just bought the car about 2 weeks ago)

Could it be that just a basic tune-up will fix my issues?

did you put the filter on yourself since you got it? and was the old one clogged bad? if the car had been sitting for some time there could be that much debris in the tank such as rust or varnish breaking loose that the filter may be plugged again. Also there is a sock on the pickup in the tank and 3 screens in the carburetor too that can be restricting the fuel delivery. A good way to tell if it's a delivery problem is put the car in 1st. gear make a full throttle run down the street, when the car falls on it's face turn the ignition to kill the engine but NOT lock the steering pull off the road and inspect the sight glasses on the sides of the carburetor. If there's fuel then it's not a delivery problem, if it's empty then your not getting fuel to the carb.
