I got my turbo!!!!!!!!!!!

So I got My turbo for the 327 today.....

It came of a chevy 5.7L diesle, dual exhaust inlet...I cant wait to get the motor up and running now. I am pretty sure it will only be about 2 months now before the car is complete. that is ready for the track, considering it will never be finished.

anyhow, thought I would share my good news....thanks for all the help and for the help I'm sure I will be recieving in the future during the build/restore of the 85'

Peace-E-

ps I will be getting pics this weekend so you guys can see what I will have to deal with and I will post pics of my bosses 83' rex(my insperation for my baby)

update--

I am starting a turbo kit fro the 13b monday, put plan to sell the kit once the 327 is ready. I dont think the motor will handle it for very long so as soon as I get it done I will be posting it in the for sale section....I would like to know however what kind of adapters I will need for this upgrade?(if any)

oh, if any one knows of a company that makes bolt-in roll cages for 1st gens, my boss needs one for his car.

I am going to to the turbo kit for the rex with a t3/t4 hybrid that I got....the diesel turbo is strictly for the v8.

as far as the diesel being a low reving turbo that would be correct(as far as I know) so what you have is perfect.

is that because of the quick spool of the t3? I am just getting into the turbo rotary thing, so I am just seeing what I need what I dont need...exc. do you know what kind of adapters I will need for the upgrade? I am still needing that info before I start really planing the design of the manifold and what not. thanks again.

not because of the quick spool, but because of the size. it is way to small on the exhaust side and creates to much heat. all the heat gets trapped in by the small exhaust side, thus creating overheating, and manifold cracking, and shooting to much heat back into the engine. big problem...thats why many people switch out the stock twins for a larger single. not only because of the power gain, but also because of the reliability

ahh....so the heat has to be able to flow through and not get trapped, got it...

I think this thread is done, cant get my pics downloaded and I need to stop being stupid in the public eye.....
