Should be a good deal if it runs. Looks like you bought it from Meanassrx7

cdrad51: What are your plans for this motor??

That's exactly what I have in my 83 GSL, an 84 12A that was previously an automatic. From the way it runs, I would imagine my compression is still in the 100's. I guess the automatics sorta protect these engines.....

I'm gonna use it as a temporary replacement so I can get the streetported engine currently in the car rebuilt. Then I might keep it as a spare, or get it torn down, rebuilt and streetported.

Hopefully, I can do it next week-end if I got nothing better to do. I easily get bored - that will keep me from not swapping my motors for the 6th time.

Hey wacky- how's drivability (when fully warmed) with an IDA on a 12A stockport or streetport? Do they have a tendency to stumble at cruise like a dcoe?

It drives good. we use originally used 40 venturies in my bro's first stock engine, then switch to a 42 with the 12-A streetport, and now with the new stock engine again, we just left it alone. He loves the top end and a 75 idle jet helps a lot on take off from a full stop.

I havent played with the DCOE's progression hole but mainly on a IDA. extra progression hole (total of 3 on IDA), helps the transition from main jet to idle jet.

Nice deal cdrad, it'll get you to work, but you better leave a few minutes earlier so you get there on time.

The car will be running with this stock engine by the end of this week. As for the streetported engine being rebuilt by then, I don't think so. Erwin is backed up with work. I'll try though.

I wish I can find the time to install your engine as I got to work in my FB to get it ready for the annual run. hmmmmmmmmmmmm Juice it or boost it. Cant decide.

But hey, thats a good idea. Both stock 12-A and NoLuck's SE as well. Sterling Carb VS IDA VS FI. I will follow you guys with a video cam in my roll bars. then I will eat you guys alive.
