Yes I think he is talking about the drip rail molding above the doors. They sell replacement ones, so there has to be a way to get them off I just dont know how.

I don't know how to get those off either. I was thinking of masking my whole car just to repaint those.

I suggest leaving them on and refurbishing them in place. The 2 drip rail trimmers are the only parts missing on my widebody. The ones I took off no longer fit, nor will they stay in place, and yes, I am careful about removal. The pieces distort/twist easily and there are little plactic clips inside that may not be availible.

Had I known they would be such a pit to reinstall, I would have left them in place or shaved them.

You might not want to mask your roof.

It's not chrome or aluminum, it's stainless steel. If your just polishing it out, leave the drip rail covers in place and protect the surrounding area.

ummm I have taken mine out... its pretty easy, you just sit in the car, use a blade screwdriver and lightly pry the sucker out, it pops right out....

I was able to put it back on by having the door open, sitting on the seat, and snapping part of the piece in at a time... It takes a little bit of patience, but its pretty easy to do.... I just worked it on little bit by little bit with my fingers, and for the surround around the windshield, you can get a kit from Victoria british to replace all the brital plastic clips that break when you take off the trim. Everything went back together pretty easily, just with reassembaly take your time, its really straight forward...
