Can you guys please help me make a desicion, my 7 is great, she's got 84,000 miles and runs pretty strong. But i have a fair amount of rust on anything that has to do with suspension under the car and even the car's sheet metal has rust bubbling up in many different spots. Some areas look tuff, like in hatch seal area where water sits and drains out through those holes. I pretty much need my car to drive everyday so it couldnt sit around while a redo everything for like a month. And i also dont really have too much experience with body work and definitrly not metal working. What should i do: work on it slowly through the summer cutting out rust, replacing parts, and putting in new metal or should i just sell it, I dont want anything but an rx7 and i dont want to get rid of this one and give up on it. I might get about 1200 bucks in the next couple weeks so that could help with restoration or fixing up another first gen............. i just am unsure, sorry this is long God bless

 

Whatever has rust can be fixed and/or needs to be replaced anyway. Do what you can yourself first and get a body man to do the rest. But don't just cover it up. It's like cancer. Good luck to you.

If you can't afford all that, get another 7 that doesn't have the rust and move into it with all your good stuff. Make it look better than new. Hope to see your pics someday.
