Hyper Ground wires?
What do you guys think about these little add on for a quick tiny boost in power. I cant find the official site and it does not look like there are any made specifically for an fb? Does anyone know what i am talking about and has anybody given it a shot? god bless

I was a bit skeptical about the grounding wire setup until I saw a demo in Japan a couple of years ago. They had a 3 Gen FD 7 setup in a booth with infrared sensors of some sort and darkened it . Started the car up and and ran at idle, you could see electrical arcing/discharge coming from about 4 different areas within the engine compartment, arcing intensity increased as they revved the engine at higher RPMS. They then hooked up the grounding system, charges disappeared and their fancy meter checks reflected brighter headlight lighting, more amperage from the alternator and about a 5-7 hp increase along with other improvements.
Looks like you can make your own setup with regular stereo amp wiring....it looks like the same kind of wiring. I know almost everyone in Japan has one of these wiring getups in their car.

wow.. thats some crazy stuff...
and yeah.. what needs to be ground? the extra stuiff tothe engine?
and would it be better to go overboard and use the chunky **** battery cable?

It seems that everyone under-estimates the value of a good clean ground. It makes a huge difference from the starter and spark; to the headlamps. If you haven't changed your stock battery cables, at minimal, do so. It is well worth the effort for our older RX7s.

"This system provides direct ground path from battery negative to body, chassis, and engine components to give extreme improvement on electrical circulation. In addition "Hyper Ground System" cables have 10 times less impedance than factory ground systems which provides immaculate conduction to prevent electrical power loss. The higher resistance of factory grounds, effect the ignition system and obstructs the primary potential. The "Hyper Ground System" uses thick gauge 99.99% pure copper, and connects directly from the cylinder head and other points under the hood to the battery, to provide an ultra low resistance connection. This will increase the primary potential of regular cars to ignition tuned vehicles."

hey coudl this make it less a chance of a floating ground because i think i have one and this came up in my mind they also sell grounding kits on ebay but they jsut say for rx7 i dont think a special year or anyhitng but it comes with all the big gage wires..

i jsut say them install a ground kit on tuner transformations on speed channel and they said how it increase power..but they installed it to give the car better edge on track because it iwll have over all a little bit since everyhitng mainly runs together and needs to be together

I just redid all my ground and power leeds.
Battery Cable 4 Gauge 50" Top Post (battery power to starter power)
Battery Cable 4 Gauge 24" Top Post (battery ground to strut ground)
Battery Cable Switch to Start 4 Gauge 24" (strut ground to alternator ground- add this)
Battery Cable Switch to Start 4 Gauge 30" (strut ground to starter ground)
You may need a longer bolt at the strut tower to accomadate the extra cables, I had one, so I do not know the size.
I grounded from the strut tower to the alternator brace for a good engine ground. It only costs around $30 for all the cables and 30 minutes to do it all. Worth every penny. Remember these cables are 20 years old now.

The engine needs a good chassis ground, along with the battery.

thats a little over-kill. One good ground in the chassis and 1 in the engine block are sufficient.

The original wires are aluminum, not copper, so just putting in new cables from the auto store is a good bet. Sometimes I go to a welding store and get arc welding cable because it's very flexible and has thousands of threads (thus lowering resistance per surface effect of current flow.)
You can get super terminal connectors at a Marine Supply store.

I purchased OEM wires from the dealer; connecting same as factory wiring. That's probably why my ground seems so effective without any additional ground wires. I did have to order them, though; and they weren't cheap.

Lives on the Forum
I just ran a 10 ga. wire from my alternator body to the negative on the battery, and another one from the body to the negative. Can't say I saw any difference, but I read somewhere that a prominent shop will not let any 7 leave before this has been done...
