Huh! 1800 miles on an 85!

Look at this one:

1800 miles actual, and a price of $16000! It should be showroom.

I tell ya these old 7s are gonna get valuable pretty soon.

Ya but with that little mileage on the motor over such a long period of time I would almost wonder if theres engine problems. But definitly a sweet deal for the price but be weary I was looking at a car for a kickin deal but it turned out to be 33 000 mi when the tag said 3300 mi probably just an honest mistake.

see how many digits the meter can hold. My '80 zeroed out after 100,000 miles, so now it says something like that.

The 85 can hold seven digits on the odometer, it didn't zero out.

As far as engine trouble due to unuse, I bought my 85 with 10,000 on it and I had little trouble. It's a bit more than this one has, but I didn't have any real engine problems. Besides tuning the carb to pass smog, it ran like a dream.

I'm willing to bet that one is worth the money.

Don't know if I'd pay near that for a non-SE, even though it's technically a new car. Not at today's book values anyway.
But give it another ten (or even five) years, when there are few roadworthy 1st gens left, and it should fetch at least that.
A guy in Lethbridge, Alberta recently turned down an offer for $14,000 for his mint original '72 240Z--- a car that ten years ago was just as plentiful as the 1st gens and just as inexpensive to buy as 1st gens are now. Of course, this info came from the owner so take it for what it is.

I'd like to know what they actually get out of it in the end. It's true value is whatever someone is willing to pay.

I doubt FB's/SA's will be worth a lot for a long time. Theres too many of them to create a real high sale value as of yet. Even with 1800 miles , the guy is on crack at 16k

I paid $1600 for my current 85 GSL, drive it 100+ miles a day, you can't get more cheap miles than that. Drive these cars, don't store them.

85 GSL for 16000 dollars. Nuff said. I don't care if it has -41423 miles, that is a LOT of money for a 20 year old common car.

agreed. thats WAY to much money. plus, you wouldnt want to put to many miles on it since that would be the reason of buying it, so what do you get out of it? a $16k conversation peice?

Good points! My 83 and 85 are both so close to showroom that it doesn't make a difference.
