Unlikely.
This was the case many years ago, but to my knowledge most/all amplification circuits are designed to deal it now.
I wouldn't turn it up huge amounts though.

You may have a bad ground. That's been the source of most electrical problems around here lately... I would check the ground on the CD player.

And I apologize for my horrible typing in my previous post-- I usually pride myself on having impeccable grammar, spelling, punctuation, and typing... I suppose I'm kinda tired though (and watching Bond on channel 5!!), so I have an excuse )

i thought this too but the connection with the constant stays at 12v. could this still be the ground?

what is the best place to ground?

hmmm
Does this happen when you turn the unit on? Or just when you connect the power?
I assume you're measuring this with a reliable voltmeter or DMM?

Something crazy would had to have happend for the ACC line to the radio to be messed up though...

All you'd have to do is run the wire, then crimp it in with whatever line you want to use. (Assuming you're not going to be collectively drawing more than the feedline that you're drawing from can support-- if you're just re-running the current line you'd probably be fine)

I think you should investigate the problem further though.

You hooked up "some wire that was goin to nothing"?? to what?? What kind of connector did it have on it?
