How to remove the rear-view mirror?

How to remove the rear-view mirror?

It doesn't say in The Haynes Manual

How do you remove it?

I think I read a while back that you take the light lense off and take out the two screws to remove it.

Yup. remove the light lens, you'll see two screws. Pull back a little bit and you'll find two wires which you can disconnect. It should come right out after that.

I've removed the light lens and I see the 2 screws. But I also saw that the lightbulb is part of the rear-view mirror?

Do I lose the lightbulb if I would remove the mirror? (I didn't had any tools so I couldn't check for myself)

If you removed the mirror (check with your country's regulations regarding that) it shouldn't effect anything. Of course, it has been a few months since I had mine out... But I'm pretty sure you could do it if you wanted to.

The rearview mirror is too obtrusive for me, so I cut it off with a cutoff wheel in my dreml, close to the top, and added an aftermarket mirror glued to the windshield down low. Much better for a tall guy. Did it on both cars.

It's easier to remove the whole roof console assembly, then remove the mirror post from the assembly, and replace the assembly sans mirror
