how much timing is possible to get on 81-85 dizzy

Hi Guys,

what is the max advance timing L possible to get if you turn the dizzy all the way clockwise? ( assuming the dizzy is installed correct and the arrrow points at the oil cap. )

There's no limit.

Realistically you don't really want more than 22 degrees of full mechanical advance (check at 4000rpm.with the vacuum hoses disconnected). You make less power beyond that. This is with the trailing timing maxed out, which is about 4-6 degrees of split.
