I am wondering how much hp a nikki carb can make in a blow through set up? I was thinking of using one on my streetported 13b that is going to be running 10 psi boost. But would it be too restrictive? I was thinking if so, i will just run a mega squirt setup.

I searched and i couldn't find out, i know it can be made to flow 460 cfm and i know how to make it take boost but i cant find out how much psi can go through it before it becomes inefficent and restrictive.

Look for posts by FB II actually. He had a mean Nikki blowthrough setup on his 12A. I know he modified the carb ALOT though.

 

you really can't ask a question like "how much horsepower can XXX make"

because the answer really is a bajillion.

robert made somewhere north of 500hp on a nikki, 720 on FI.

he seems to think that (and i'd say for the most part he's right) that with boost you pretty much can't max out a decent flowing carb. sort of like with more fuel pressure a small injector can feed bigger and bigger power numbers.

Now i'd like you to notice something.
I'm talking to you like a senior member or something. I havent been around to hang with these guys and learn their tricks, aka: i'm not a senior, i'm a horrid Noob.
everything i think i know i got from reading here, i haven't asked very many questions. you may say you don't have the time/convenience to sift through everything but i call bs.

this isn't just directed toward you, it's too anyone who jumps on here asking "what turbo for 1000hp"
if you're serious about a turbo rotary the reading is the most trivial part of the build.

 

Well i did do searching before i posted, because like you i don't ask to many questions. But i couldn't really find the awsner but close enough.

 

Unfortunately the question is like asking how much pixie dust does it take to turn a toad into a prince. You have to know what kind of toad you have to begin with, what kind of prince you want, and the pixies/magicians haven't been giving out thier secrets.

Most magicians learn by: reading, experimenting, working under a master. I'm still working on the first 2.

I'm still curious what mods are needed to boost prep a Nikki, write up is needed.
