HOW MUCH HAVE YOU PUT IN YOUR FB (less car cost)

I saw a post just like this in the FC... I've spent over a $1000 on my GSL-SE....

$1161 to get it to pass emission.... TRI-POINT
New ACV... DYNOMAX SUPER CAT
$100 for a MAGNECOR R100 10mm wires
$70 (2)MSD blaster coil
$103 for RACING BEAT SS OIL COOLER line
$50 getting my OIL COOLER WELDED
$47 RACING BEAT OIL COOLER FITTINGS
$45 on a ECU from ebay N304
$36 for a cheap hks STYLE intake from ebay
>$150 junk yard shopping
$infinite GAS and oil

I'm never going back to a mechanic again... I'm gonna build up my tools to where I can basically run a small mechanic shop

Nada, just bought it

Lots into my other cars though, I have a stack of receipts wayyy too big to look at. Reading them may cause physical harm.

Spent about $180. $90 on an exhaust system, which fell off so it needed another $90 exhaust, lol. Thats the only money besides gas and oil I have spent on it, and it goes 15.8@86.5mph Actually it goes low 15s now, but I havent had a chance to take it to the strip so i cant verify that.

60$, which was just for 60$ spare trans (insurance). Needs paint (oxydized bad, but looks good from 10 feet), air pump making noise, has minor exhuast leak, original springs weak, front brake pads starting to squeal, and will need tires soon. I have put over a thousand miles on her already, and this is all that has shown up. Not bad for an old 1500$ sports car with cold a/c and a nice SONY CD player.

I've spent less than $500 on mine since I bought it this last January...but I haven't gotten started yet. If my woman knew how much I would probably be spending on this car, I'm positive she would hire someone to steal it.

Exhaust, intake, wires, sound system, gauge faces, engine paints, engine cleaners, interior highlights, suspension, etc, etc.

$600 RB Exhaust
$200 Sumitomo HTRs
$140 in-dash mp3
(+ $50 Manntis install kit)

Damn, $1010. It's now officially 10 bucks more than I paid for the car.

Im not really sure... All the performance stuff is in my sig and was bought new, and I also have lots of other brand new stock replacement parts... Like a radiator, starter, alternator, battery, battery cables, water pump, oil pan, oil pan gasket, rear main seal, thermostat, radiator hoses, tranny seals, brake pads, tires, etc, etc. I kept all the reciepts so I could add it up if I wanted too, Im just too scared . I got the car for free, and my goal was to get a car in the condition that mine is in for less than or equal to the price of an RX-7 in decent condition. I think I met that goal. That was my justification for buying all the new parts that I needed rather than used ones. I needed lots of parts and had small paychecks so I was borrowing money from my Mom and slowly paying her back. She kept asking me if I really wanted to put "this much money" into "that car". I just pointed out that by the time I was done (according to the list of stuff I needed I had on my computer), I would only be hovering around $2000 spent on the car (including the RB exhaust). Which to me is perfectly justifiable because even if I could find another 7 for that price, it wouldnt have as many new parts as mine did . So, I got the money and bought the stuff. Im obviously over that $2000 mark now with the Weber and other goodies Ive added. I honestly dont think its over $3000 yet though. Not bad even if I do say so myself .

I'm buying an 85 GSL-SE for $500. The only real problem is the exhaust (which will come off when i order the performance system), transmission (probably 350-450 to fix, and i might order a performance one) and the body, which is ruined from rust by the hatch. It's going to be a fun project car till my truck is paid off. Full coverage insurance is killing me. my truck payment is only $200/month, but the insurance is $400. Isnt that crazy? When i'm done paying for the truck, and paying for the insurance, I'll have lots of extra cash to buy another project car. Maybe another 7...

How cold? My a/c is as good as gone. It barely works. My dad says my a/c has a small leak and needs to recharged, so I need to get around to that. LAter

hey mrgslse just wondering, did you do all that stuff on your own? or did a mechanic do it? you know if you have receipts showing that you spent more then $400 they will give you a refund, im not sure how it goes but i have freinds that work for the state at referee stations and people spend more then 400 all the time to pass smog
