How many have drove a FC and FB/Differences?
I have had 4 FB's and had to sell my last one without really wanting too. To be honest the fun factor was a 9 but the ride and interior noise was a 6. I am seriously considering a turbo 2 (anniversary if possible) in the spring. Will I lose too much fun factor or is it a good balance that I will enjoy, I do some highway driving in the summer.

i have driven my friends fc. it was an N/A though. it felt sloppy and big. i love my fb because it's so small and it just gets up and goes. handles better IMO, then again i have upgraded shocks and pretty good stock suspension. FB's compared to an N/A fc is simple. the FB owns! a tII now, they are fast but weigh alot. depends. i honestly like fc's but would never give up my fb.

I'll second the sloppy and big statement. I've driven a few N/A's and one TII and wasn't impressed as compared to the FB. They're good cars in their own right, but not compared to the FB, it's just a completly different feeling.

This is the first FB that I've own but I've driven a couple in the past. I've driven three other FC's, but the FC's were all right hand drive and turbo back in Japan. The biggest difference that I can remember is that the SA/FB's are easier to oversteer. I did like the way the FC handled. I had a problem with shifting through the gears in the FC but I think thats just a common problem with all the FC's back Japan. the 1stGens make me feel like I'm driving a small K-car from back in Japan.

Yep... The FC is just too heavy IMO. I don't really like the body style of the FC either. It makes it look bigger and heavier than it is.

I went from an 83 to an 88 TII. The cornering was superior by far and the acceleration was WOOOOOOOOW!!!!
I also drove my dad's 87 n/a and was really put down. Might as well have been driving am underpowered familly sedan.
Now I have an 85 SE because I feel thats where the real RX-7 spirit and essence lies...

I have a couple fc's and owned several and still own 3 fb's
I love the fc's because they just seem more practicle, it starts with no questions asked, and sounds good to boot.
As long as the fc has fair compression it should be quite a bit quicker then your fb "an NA that is, of course a tII will be alot faster"
the fc's do feel alot bigger, but not like a caddy, they still have a sporty feeling
you will be able to pick up ALOT more chicks in the fc
you will also have alot more ricers tryin to race ya
as for handling, yeah right my fb has an SE suspension with huge sway bars front and rear, it stops on a dime and will take 90's @ ungodly speeds without as much as a chirp out of the tires, and the passenger doesnt even know it cause it stays flat as a pancake
if you get a tII S5 you will get better brakes then what I have on my s5 gtu but you will still get that nasty rear wheel hop when you get on it off the line
so my verdict
hands down - I would rather be driving my FC around town
hands down - I would rather be playing/racing with my FB

I have driven both, or i should say i have driven three
different rx7's. My 82 (FB), pretty nimble and fun, an 87
(FC) nice cars, but there's alot going on and feel pretty solid. The way the FC's are assembled was a different tech. then the FB's. or i should say a lot of thought went into the FC's. Now, then there's the -SE's,,, a world all by themselves.

I drove an FC and really didn't like the handeling at all. I actually like the no-power steering in my FB better. Makes me feel more in control. FB is easily a lot quicker and more responsive, steering and acceleration alike.
The only thing the FC's have over FB's is power. I have an SE with a 13b anyway so there really is no difference, unless the FC's a TII hehe.

I've driven:
'82 GS, '84 GSL-SE, '87 turbo, '88 turbo, '91 convertible
My impressions:
Engines - the 12A is a nice little engine in the FB. Not a lot of low-end, but rev it up and it's a lot of fun. The -SE 13B has gobs of low-end torque compared to the other engines. The turbo 13Bs are the overall best rotary engine I've driven. Not much punch below 2500 RPM, but once the turbo kicks in, wheeeee! The N/A 13B in the FC convertible feels sluggish (probably because of the weight of the car).
Handling - In my experience the FCs handling is superior in terms of overall grip. The '87 I have is lowered with stiff springs, and it holds the road very well, although with a rough ride. The '88 and '91 both have stock suspensions, and are a good compromise between handling and ride. The FBs feel similar to the FCs in a straight line, but have more body roll and less ultimate grip in the corners, and are a little twitchier over bumps. Also the FCs have much more precise steering (rack and pinion is nice).

The FC is a better handling car, stock for stock. It doesn't feel quite as good as the SA/FB because of the weight differential, but the FC is a better handling car in every measurement. They stop quicker, get better skid pad ratings and have far better rear suspension.
All that said, I'd never trade my SA for a FC, but I don't have any illusions about the handling capabilities.

I owned a '90 FC for about a year and have had my FB for eight. The worst thing about the FC is not that it is heavy and numb-feeling, but the DTSS which destroys the handling. I was never comfortable whipping the car around like my FB because you never knew exactly how it would respond. But the FC steering, creature comforts, and more powerful high-revving engine almost make up for it's shortcomings. I think I'm going to get another one soon just because like someone said before, it's more practical and it's still sporty.
