how expensive is a 12A to 13B swap

i am planning on doing a blow through single turbo setup on my 12A but a 13B would give me some extra power. however, i am on a very limited budget. how expensive would it be to swap in a 13B, take off the EFI and put on a weber or some other nice carb. i want the carb cause i want to get some carb tuning experience. plus not too many peeps have a 13b blow through turbo

edit: exclude the cost of the engine and carb, etc. i just want to know how much it will cost to get it in the car (aka mounting changes, etc). if its not too much i will get a used one and do the swap but if its alot ill just stick with the 12A

So expensive, you might as well consider a Falconer V-16...

the 13b swap would only be worth the effort if your gonna go fuel injection......for a blow-through set-up the 12a would be fine

My blow-through is pretty fun.

Getting an exhaust manifold made is one of the harder things to get done correctly.

I bought my car for $4200 with the turbo and 13B already installed.

price for the mounting changes? $80. You just need to get the 12A - 13B mounting adapter from racing beat or mazdatrix. Make sure you use your 12a front cover on it too.

pillage6, your car sounds like it would be a blast to drive.
i will probly end up turboing the 12A tho to save money. i want to get at least 350hp out of it. someone has a 600+hp 12A on this forum, i wonder what his setup is.

im not questioning that its expensive to go fast, im wondering whether i should use the 12a or if i can swap the 13b with out too much money. according to hornbm its 80 bucks too install it. so i could get a used 13B probly from an fc for around 200, get a carb, get the mounting adapter and do the swap. hmm sounds pretty good, it would be fun too

Robert= 680WHP12A

That guy has sick cars! My car is fun, but since it is my daily driver, I am not going ballistic with it.

I boost about 12 psi daily, not even close to the turbo's efficiency range.
