how do you turn off the governor
+1 wrecking @ thoes speeds will get you and\or someone else killed...
Plus if you do this on a race track there are no speeding tickets and police dont have to chase you down inless he\or she is a fellow track racer than it make it fun for the both of you..
If you wreck the car there is a medic on the way before you even stop where on the street the medic is 5+ min away..

+1 but i dont care about him. what about the car!! just imagine what would happen to that thing if you wrecked at that speed...use your head there is no reason for going or 110 or 100 i have been over 100 in my car only a couple times but that was on an interstate at 2 AM.
110mph on a long, flat straightaway during the middle of the day. But, I let off once I got that fast and told myself not to do such dumb things anymore. Like I want to run the risk of sliding into the grass median or losing stability.
This one time at band... Oh no wait. This one time at night I was doing 115, hit a bump and then the car decided to change lanes. I let off after that. ANd then went home and cleaned up.
Yes, it was stupid. I was alot younger (over 10 years ago). 1982 GSL, bone stock except for a header and presilencer. Clear highway heading from college to my parents' in Ohio. Once she hit about 117, the front end started to 'float' just a bit until I started up a slight hill. She settled down and got to 121 by my speedometer and I backed off. It might have had something to do with a Corvette riding my *** for miles- about one half a car length back (I was in the right lane doing 10 over with the cruise set). He rode me forever, but wouldn't pass me, so I brake checked him right there on the interstate somewhere in Tennessee south of Louisville. That got him to pass, but shouting at me and flicking me off made me snap. So what started out as a really poor decision (remember, I was an early 20's know-it-all) to tailgate him in return quickly just turned into me wondering what the car could do. He took off like a rocket once I started after him, so I had a rabbit to intercept any cops about a mile up in front of me.
Not proud I did it, but I shared the story to back up that the cars can move when they're running decent. At the supposed 121 though, it was all she had. No gear or pedal left.

to determine any speeds higher than that.
I'd be surprised if a Stock car made it past 120! (Not counting the 121 :P)
As for my little story, it was a lovely day on the %80 heading home and almost no cars for miles... decided to let her go for a few miles.
Judging by how long past the 85 on my speedo, the tach, and the stuff blurring by, I'd say my poor baby maxed out around 110-115. Of course, the chances of a day like that happening and me wanting to take a 20 year old, almost no preformance modifications other than the Tokico Blues and sways bars... are about as slim as Wacky giving in his scythe and letting us get some 7's.

I've gotten a saab turbo up to 150, was proud of it at the time, still am, but I couldn't live with myself if I injured someone out of my bad judgment. Am now an EMT, drive an ambulance for a living, yay speeding legally FTW!!! Also I help people through my speeding so it's a win win. Only bad part is it's a Big Truck. Meh I live with it.
