How do you do ATF/MMO treatment on a 6port EGI?

How? and dont say the leading spark plug holes. That just makes the floor really messy (no i actually used a drip pan, but it did all just leak right back out...)

So, i'll do it again here in a few days, just lemme know how to do it right.

Peace
Geoff

I used an old style oil squirt can (like the tin man in the wizard of Oz) to get the oil to actually go into the housings.

I used a syringe and tubing..like aquarium air hose. I had to wiggle the tube around in the hole, I found it would finally go in a couple of inches. Enough to squirt ATF with none spilling out.

Use a turkey baster..and yes in the leading spark plug holes. Turn the engine by hand so that the rotor isnt blocking the passage, thats the key...then repeat. Once theres enough in there, replace the spark plug so most of it wont spill out then do the same on the other side.
If you happen to have the upper manifold off simply pour it into the primary intake runners.

ATF = Automatic Transmission Fluid, MMO = Marvel Mystery Oil.

Now before you go and ask "why", read this: http://www.mazspeed.com/atf.htm

atf stands for apex treatment fix, you can order it at your local mazda dealer.
Or do a search on ebay; the stuff is pretty rare but you can find a good deal every once a while

I used a very small turkey baster (quail baster?). I got it from Walmart. The size made it easy to squirt the oil into the leading plug holes. Not much mess if any at all.

Go and spend $5-$10 and go and get an old school style oil can with a pump and a long thin neck. Fill it with ATF, take the leading plugs out and squirt it in. You won't spill a drop.

You could even go as far as this guy did (he used it to bleed brakes though).

HOW MUCH ATF do you pour down the leading plugs, it would seem better if you pour the ATF through the lower intake manifold, just disable the leading plugs from firing while doing it.

- you may not need to do the ATF procedure.

I use 16 oz. of MMO in every tank of gas, and that keeps my apex seals/springs in good shape.

Yeah, I sound like an MMO Disciple, but the stuff works. Of course, if my car had high mileage and had been sitting for a while (and I hadn't been using MMO), then the ATF treatment might be necessary.
