How do I take off my hood

Got in a crash late last month and I need to take off the hood, Anyone know how I can do it from outside of the vehicle? I’m okay with cutting it I just want to see if there’s a way to take it off.

pulling the hood latch from the inside doesn’t do anything, it’s stationary.

I would look through the beds in the hood to see if I could see the latch. Have someone pull the cable and see if there's any movement in the release cable whatsoever.

You could also cut the hood around the striker, though you risk damaging the wiper cowl.

I feel your pain ..

You could also try cutting the engine hood where the hinges are located towards the front. It's not like you have to worry about damaging the front panel between the headlights.

I'm sure someone could chime in with some accurate measurements of exactly where to cut.

the hood is scrunched so I have enough room to get to the front latches on the opposite side with a long extension but most likely I’ll cut the hood thank you. I’ll just make a wide cut to make it safe

This would work too, thank you. I could do the same and just cut wife to make sure so I don’t hit anything important.

got lucky on the crash and we can save it! Just trying to source some front end parts over time. Gonna look like junk with no hood or fender for awhile though

The bend on the passenger side and the removed fender may give you access to the lever that actuates the hood release. You will need to push it from the passenger side towards the driver's side. The release lever is on the lower portion of the hood latch and the hood release cable connects to it. Pushing it towards the left side of the vehicle will release the hood. I can post a picture of what I'm talking about if you want. You'll just need a long skinny screwdriver or other aperatus to move the lever from the outside of the car.
