Stock spec-v's run a 16 in the 1/4 while a stock MSP runs 15. One of the fastest Spec-V's on specplace.com runs a 13.89.

A spec-v equipped with this:

NISMO S-Tune Spec V: With the complete S-Tune package (Nismo S-Tune Shock and Strut Set, Nismo S-Tune Front Anti-Sway Bar, Nismo R-Tune Lower Tie Bar, Nismo R-Tune Front Brake Pads, Nismo S-Tune Cat-back Exhaust, and 225/45ZR-17 BF Goodrich g-Force KD tires). =

15.5 1/4 mile. Don't believe me.

msp's are good track cars. very awesome handling, decent power. i've messed with a couple. one put down a little over 200 to the wheels with basically the same mods binary has. buuuuut, they have junk trans, weak blocks, and could stand to be a little lighter. that terrible "sub" they come with could really be thrown at a wall and sound better. cool car for a daily driver... that's about it to me. i've put around 700 bucks in to the setup i currently have in my FB and it's in the 12's and i drive it every day hassle free.

back to the issue at hand... wanna beat an msp? it wont take much i dont care what mods they have... especially from a roll

Really? Must have been a US-Only thing then... Here in Canada we didn't get black or blue. I assumed you had the same colour options in the US.
My bad...

My really good friend has a black 03 MSP and he has a perrin xhaust, FMIC, injen intake and put 174hp to the wheels on stock boost. The car is fugging fun as hell to drive, but is no where as fast as my car, best time he can run is mid 15's and I kill him on the freeway. All you need isa 13b weber and exhaust. That's all i Have and i smoke him all the time. Were pretty good friends and he's a great driver so don't even play that card. My car only put 140 to the wheels which is about 170 flywheel. WHich is what the MSP was stock. Plus the FB is lighter, and has the bennifit of RWD..

Come on You Canadian's are so gullible. Honda knows it. In Canada from 1995-1999- Honda rebadged the Civic EX as the SI and they sold like hotcakes. People actually thought they were getting a car peeps in the US didn't get. Plus they put different headlights on the 4door civic EX and badged it an Acura and charged you'll 4'k more for some headlights and badges. LOL Oh, Canada. Well I guess it's actually oh, marketing sceams... Back on subject, they did come in black, as my friend does have one...

We had Honda make the SI for us as a MARK. This way it's EASY to spot the morons while driving. Just look fo the SI badge!

But seriously, I can't speak for the CIVIC owners of my country. But a I do know a thing or two about our Mazda's.

For instance, did you know that our GSL and GSL-SE's have headlight sprayers? Same as the higher j-spec models.
They also didn't call it the '83 LE up here. It was, I believe, a GX?
And, as I said, no black or blue MSP's...

180 whp out of a MSP out of the box seems way hella low...I have a friend who has a titanium MSP...his came with a twin turbo setup with 2 50mm compression wheels...and it had like 380 if I can remember correctly...but what I do know now is that he got a $2000 turbo upgrade and hes pushing 490 WHP...that makes absolutely no sense that, that MSP would have 180 WHP unless it was unturboed...but other than that it should have more horsepower than a damn sentra...

You're just pullin numbers out of thin air there, budy!
http://www.mazda.ca/include/printtab..._content02.xml
That's from Mazda Canada...
Stock 2.0 Protoges only make 130hp...

I seriously doubt that little engine would take enough boost to make 490WHP...

I half assedly ran my friends from a second gear roll in a 2000 miata a couple weeks ago. And I din't loose bad, he started pulling slowly in third and keept on going.

I think a well tuned sp 12A with a carb and exhaust could take one.

I think when I run him in my GSL-SE I'll whoop his ***........................

Well, my sister owns a 2003 protege5 wagon. It has like two turbos mounted where the mufflers are, two transmissions, and get this, 4bovs!!!! Plus, she put a "GT-R" sticker on it which topped her awhp off to 480.

See people, doesn't it sound stupid when you make crap up.

And mr. Rick, some people don't have $3000 to pump out of their pocket to do it all at once. Some people on here have houses to pay for, children to feed, and wifes to keep happy.

I hear that, People ask "how can I run a 10sec quarter" when they don't even have the funds to do it. I'm happy with my 14.17 vert (8psi), and my engineless FB (5.0 swap :P) with for both cars only costing around $6,000 so far. I'm poor when it comes to car funds but I don't bitch about it

no bitching here. aint poor either. but keep in mind, not everyone is willing to pay full price like you especially when you can get it half the price with the same result. its just common sense. like why pay someone to change the oil on your car when you know you can do it for free??

You can PAY people to change your oil?
You LIE! Why do you lie?
Why the hell would anyone PAY to have their oil done?

That's how I relax and get away from my family!
