How come some rx7's stock color looks brown when it is silver

I am pretty sure my stock color is K8 tornado gray but why does it look brown in some light. Its 21 years old but other 7's that look like they got a paint job(stock color) still look kinda brown. Do you guys know anything about this? God bless

It's funny you mention that!

When i bought my car the guys at the used car lot called it "Brown",
but it is Tornado Silver.

I thought they must be color blind because it looks dark grey. I can't see
how they could have seen it brown color.

Tornado grey is the grey with a little bit of brown (looks darker at night)
then there is a brown that looks like it has a little tornado grey in it

make sense? I didn't think so

Mine looked brown too. I think the more faded it gets the browner it gets.

My 85 title says brown, but the car is silver/gray looking (at least now), I thought the brown was what faded away, I've seen a mint original one like mine that had a brown hue to it. But all the paint inside my car is grey/silver so I know the car was never "brown brown".
Who knows, it was the 80's.

This is V9, "custom". It looks like it has brown in it to me, but it could just be that it is old. The pic doesnt show it at all, or maybe my eyes are messed up.

I always thought it was a "Gunmetal Grey" myself. Doesn't look "brown" to me.

"Charcoal" is an accurate description in my professional artistic opinion: a dark warm grey. My favorite color for the 7 esp w/ a targa bar.

Alright guys It makes sense!!! If the Original Colour title is "Tornado Grey"!!!!!!

I must say it would be a fitting name since a Tornado is almost always Grey with a little Brown from the Dust it Kicks Up!!!!!

Speaking of which I've been looking for a Mint Olds Tornado for year's 94 if anyone know of one for Sale!!!!!

That's my old car.
Tornado Silver with a Targa bar

She was beautiful!
I'll post a pic when I get home...

I've never really seen any brown in the colour myself. I think the discription above is perfect...

My car is the V9 metallic gray and under the right light it appears to have a brownish hue. It's really apparent in my garage under fluorescent lighting or at dusk.

The first time my wife saw it she thought it was brown. Then gray. Then brown. Then gray.. (I kept pulling it in and out of the garage saying "I can't believe I got it! It's in my garage!.. Vroom! Whoops! It's out.. back in, back out! It's in... now out! It's mine.... not yours! )
