How to check if i have a gsl-se trans

I have a trans laying around i was gonna use as a spare for my rx7 but the guy told me it was a gsl-se trans from a 85 how can i double check this?? thanks!

AFAIK the front cover should be cast iron instead of aluminum. I think all non GSL-SE front covers are aluminum.

Only the GSLSE Transmissions have a vent on the right side.

I have a GSL-SE Trans that I plan to use in my 83 GSL.
-Can I use the switches, starter, etc from the 12A trans?
-I will be having it rebuilt before I install it, is there any recommended upgrades?
