How to add an easy 25 HP to a 12A?

OK, without going crazy and ripping the engine apart, what's the best way to add 25 HP to a stock 100 HP 12A? Thanks!

This exhaust:
http://www.racingbeat.com/resultset....rtNumber=16422 , then a Carter fuel pump and adjustable regulator. That should get close to 25hp at the flywheel with the stock carb.

If you want more get a Weber 45DCOE.

Open headers!

No matter what you do the fuel pump will need upgraded if you plan on using the newfound power for more than a couple seconds/anything higher than 2nd gear. Well that's not totally right... I was having fuel starvation problems at the top of 2nd!

RB header, presilencer, and free flow muffler plus a Yaw carb. Easy to tune and setup.
just my opinion,

If you use the RB header and RB Muffler, you can use the high flow cat that mazdatrix sells that bolts right on to the RB header.. Of course is pricey as hell, but like me, if you have to pass emissions, that's the way to go. Once emissions is over I take the cat off and on goes the presilenser....

i second hanman's suggestions... and that set up should easly surpass your 25 hp target.

Guys, you have been talking about a Carter fuel pump. Which pump in particular. I have been thinking about the upgrade but have no idea which carter pump is best... please give some info as to model num, and maybe where to get it... thanks...

Well, what other fuel pumps could I get? I hear that the Carters are loud as ****... I'm not a fan of noises coming from under my car...

I'd give extra for a quiet and efficient pump...

I've got a Carter and the noise doesn't bother me one bit. You can barely hear it over my exhaust, which is only moderately loud, at idle and with the stereo on you can't hear it at all.

If you don't buy a fuel pump before I fix my GS, I'll let you hear my Carter. Its not too bad if you use a shitload of grommets.

You could try the Facet fuel pump from Mazdatrix. It's good to 160 HP which you won't be able to attain unless you streetport your housings; so if you're still stock there, this pump's got you covered. It's only marginally louder than stock but does NOT like sucking air! Got mine as a gift, so I shelved my Mallory Comp110 for my '68 Bird. That is the other fuel pump I would recommend but you'll need a regulator for it and it's considered pricey by some. Fuel and spark are not the places to go budget, though, IMO.....
