hi i have an 85 12 a in need of new housings. i talked to goopy about there cut down 13 bs. i asked if i can get someone to machine the coolant and oil seal grooves, they said its not possible because it would break trough to the exhaust port. then i look at racing beat and there 13 bs cut housings already have the grooves. so is it possible to machine them? is there any other option to rebuild the 12a other than 1500 dollar housing from racing beat?

 

another option? buy someones used 12a good condition housings...?

 

Collect a few used 12As and you will probably get a couple of good housings you can use.

I've collected and torn down 11 12As, got three good rotor housings, not a bad return.

I'm about to tear down my 12th, I've got my fingers crossed.

And to answer your question, yes there is a much better option to rebuilding your 12A than paying racing beat, goopy or anybody else more that $300 per housing.

I've got some on the shelf, not for sale but if they were I'd sell them for that or less.

 

They are getting hard to find. I'm always on the lookout for "good" stock port housings.

I know Atkins is building motors with the cut 13b housing. You may ask them
