Could be low compression. Or vapor lock. Or a heat soaked carb.

I would start with a compression test. Rotarys become hard to start with low compression and even harder when warm. Even though they may make good power once running because compression leaks from one rotor face to another. I had a engine I bought as a core with 85psi on each rotor face cold, when tested with the car warm it dipped to 65 70 range. The corner seal plugs were fried and it was tough to get running.

Wait a few minutes after you shut the car off and open the gas tank cap and see if that helps.

I want to thank everyone for thier help, after trying what was suggested i think i solved the problem. I disconected both hoses at the charcol canister, drove the car for awhile, shut it off waited 10 min and tried to start it and it did with no probelm, repeated this several times and everything is good. Thanks to all who helped.

Awesome! Isn't it great when "I think my motor may be dying" is solved by simply disconnecting a couple hoses? Gotta love the rotary
