101hp - 100lb/ft torque at about 5000 rpm.
These are factory specs as released by Mazda and tested by many magazines for the 1st Gen release back in 1978 (first SA22 model).
SE's bumped this up to 135hp - 138lb/ft torque at 3500 rpm (EFI, Dynamic effect intake, thicker apex seals, larger Oil Pump housing, heavier rotors, IIRC).

SE 13b's have 3mm apex seals vs. 2mm in 12a cars - they are thicker.
This is one of the performance changes that Mazda made to the middle year 13b engines to try and counteract the tendency for apex seals to break and lunch your engine.
The later 13b cars (Gen 2) went back to 2mm apex seals in an effort to decrease internal engine friction to increase horsepower. This change was also utilized with the turbo engines, along with lightened rotors.
While the apex seals are indeed longer, they are also thicker by 1mm (3mm vs. 2mm).

Apex seals were *NEVER* 2mm in 12As, and were *NEVER* 2mm before the FC engine.
They were 5mm (6mm? Huge) one-piece carbon-apex from '67 to 73. This includes 10A and 12A... not sure about the 13A but it might have been since it was the same rotor housing width as the 12A.
They were 3mm two-piece iron from '74-85. This includes *ALL* 12A and *ALL* 13B.
Then they were 2mm 3-piece from '86-02. This includes *ALL* forms of 13B (N/A, turbo, twin turbo) and the 20B.
Note that there never was a thick-seal 13B and there NEVER was a 2mm seal 12A.

Well, I stand corrected. I must have gotten this screwed up in my mind when reading through the Mazda Performance book. Also, I had no idea Mazda used such large (5mm) apex seals in the early RX2/3 engines.
I did know that they dropped it to 2mm for the FC cars, however, as this came with the intake system enhancements to build better HP.
So what you're saying is that all 1st Gen RX-7's will have 3mm apex seals regardless of 12a or 13b - that's good information.
I remember hearing that the 2nd Gen guys would look for 84/85SE engines for replacements due to the 3mm apex seals, and also placement of the engine seals on the rotor-housings instead of the side-housings, which prevents you from being able to lap side-housings for the later engines. Maybe this is where I misunderstood.

12A twin Dizzy's were 6mm 1-piece carbon's
Other 12a's and most 13B N/A's were 3mm
The second gen RX7 13B six port n/a had 2mm high-comp rotors and the later turbo ones are 2mm... which can be modded to take 3mm to compensate for poor tuning
The thinner the seal, the less friction and the better they go.
