Hookup Rat's Nest-Runs on one rotor
Alright y'all I'm back again. Here's the deal: the car has always had a bit of a rough idle and would bog when getting stared from a stop. The oldspray starter fluid around the carb base to find the leak trick showed it was likely due to a vacuum leak and i found the leak! The vacuum hose from the rat's nest solenoid to the #2 anti-afterburn valve was disconnected. Here's the problem... when I plugged that hose back onto its vacuum nipple the car started to run on only one rotor!! When I leave the solenoid disconnected and plug the nipple on the valve with a vacuum cap it idles rough, but less rough than before I messed with anything. Also when I cap it, it also doesn't bog down. Does anyone have any idea why that may be the case? I tried troubleshooting the valve itself by unplugging the hose from the air cleaner and looking for a vacuum. The vacuum is only present on deceleration so I believe the #2AAF valve is working properly.
Anyone have any idea what may be wrong? Is the solenoid bad? The AA valve? The Air Control Valve? I'm stumped and pretty frustrated at this point.

this one time, i had one where the air pump had come apart, and the shrapnel had jammed all the valves (ACV, AAV...) and it acted like it had a big vacuum leak, which it was, it just wasn't external so it was really hard to find.
you might pull the valve out/off and look for junk in there

Well I guess that'll have to be the first place I look. The car has been running well enough to not cause any greater of a concern so it's back on the road for now with those valves plugged. Maybe I can look into it further tomorrow

The air pump doesn't seem to be damaged, but I haven't been able to tear it apart. Spinning it by hand and shining a light into the orifices didn't reveal and obvious damage. I have a air pump, air control valve, and both afterburner valves on a spare engine and it may be time to swap it all onto the car and see if they work. This weekend hopefully I can figure it out... here goes nothing!
