Hood Scoops

I never see hood scoops for a seven at least a first gen. I have an 85 and i am thinking of doing a custom hood job. I wanna put a scoop up fornt on each side behind the lights so it feeds into my dual ram air kit but i yet to find a small fiberglass scoop to put on each side i am thinking of just getting out the hammer and the torch and going completely custom i have 2 spare hoods and lots of time so maybe that is the way. Any ideas or suggestions would be apreciated.

First off,,what kind of scoop are you thinking ?? prostock, killer,or something lo-profile,Me,i bought some fiberglass NACA ducts,1 large,
and 2 small ( i sold the small ones ) but installed the large on my hood.
the fiberglass part installs under the hood so the top stays smooth,
but still had to cut a square (hole) for it to function,i drilled small holes
through hood and scoop, counter sinking the holes on top,i did 6 holes
and use small nut&bolts. the bolts on top end up flush with hood line.
and are hard to see,can be covered up easy, then fiberglassed over
the seams,sanded,painted, the duct is 9' long,5 1/2' wide,3' deep.
and added some wire screen to the back of the opening..

see i want two smaller ones one for each side because i made this really different designed for a dual ram air set up but i need two vents to do it and well sorta need the head lights plus i think two small scoops put in line behind the lights would like nice plus i have spare hoods and spare time and this is cheap way to make a different look. and that would be the perfect spot for the vents

my little B at my fraternity does custom bodywork on cars (as a side job), I was thinking maybe getting some kind of hood scoop for my '79, as I'm going to be putting a 13bt into it, and it's going to be a top mounted intercooler.. I was thinking of making something that opened in the front, ran down to the intercooler, forcing air over it & sealed by foam on any side to prevent the "forced" air from escaping, then vent back out right behind the intercooler, or maybe in the vents right in front of the windshield.. think that'd work? Kinda like the old GTO's had with their ram-air (as I remember anyhow, my big-b at the house had one), they had the hood scoop with the foam running down over to the air filter.

Talking

Or you can try a hack job with an old 300z turbo scoop from the junkyard like I did. Looks mean and it works (just ask the viper driver).

tell me if i am wrong.. but if you put a scoop either right behind (inline) the headlight, or on the headlight shell itself, are you not going to lose all air flow when the lights are up.

reall don't intend on racing with the lights up plus there is a good amount of down force with lights up right behind them. Also a friend is trying to make a clear lense so that there is no difference if it is up or down.
