Hood Scoop

I'll probably use an enlarged hood scoop from a 2000ish WRX. What do you guys think?

Hope this image links in.

I checked one out on a friends car and the size looks just right. It even has a bypass duct on the right side of the scoop to vent cooling air down on the turbo--Not bad.

And you can get'em for about $180. Some modifications definitely required but not too bad.

Sure wish this thread came back to life.

Scott

p.s. setzep thanks for the info in the pm.

well, i'll give feedback anyways. i have a friend with a 2001 imprezza that has the same hood and scoop. i've thought about this idea myself but i think i am going to go with the tII hood scoop just for the whole TIIFB concept kinda thing? hahaha i suck i know. it's very functional though! WOOT!

Personally I like the look of the TII scoop better. But that WRX scoop is cool too!

Why a scoop at all? The top-middle of the hood, where the TII FCs have their scoop, is a negative pressure area on the FBs. You'll be pulling engine air out and forward rather than ramming cold air in.

My scoop is off a old turbo Z car(hate them). Its offset to the right of the hood, right above my sidedraft intake.

Search my posts and you might find a picture of it somewhere. I dont have any on hand. Or go to the first gen. picture link and look at Badassrx7's pixs and you will see it on his 81.

I was just thinking about getting the scoop for the pass headlight from mariah. Its like 150 bucks, and no matter your set-up, you can make it functional.

This scoop is for the intercooler, not the engine inlet air.
