hood lines carry to windshield?

Hello fellow Wankel *******,

I have recently been prepping my 1984 gsl-se for some new paint. Since I have been getting pretty familiar with the outside of the car I have found about a 1" shallow groove in the non removable, what I would call windshield wiper cowl
piece. It runs right in line with the sculpted part of the hood that is about 10" in from hood side edge.
Before I purchased the car 24 years ago it had been in a driver side collision and repaired so the driver side does not have one.
Are there 2 grooves that run in line with the hood sculpt and stops about an inch before the windshield? If there are repair man may have thought it was caused from the collision and fixed it. If they do not belong then I have a repair to make myself.
thanks
joe

If you mean the two creases either side of the bonnet, or hood if you like, then yes they carry through on to the scuttle board continuing to get shallower untill they disappear just before the windshield mould.
But a picture says 1000 words. Chuck one up or have a look online.

Thanks for the replys . those are the creases that I am talking about. Glad I did not fill it in. Like I said I think body man filled driver side in thinking it was a dent. I am going to strip it down tomorrow.

just stripped the driver side area and I am thinking they may have gone to heavy with the fill and sand primer.
I will be putting that body line back in to commission.
Thanks again for the input.

yep that driver side line was missing. It was filled in but I have it back now.
Glad I noticed it before I filled the other side in to match.
I know that I have done equally stupid stuff like that.
