Question honest opinion

Hey guys just your friend north of the border here. I have recently gotten seriously ill and had to sell my baby, a steet ported free flow exhaust, K&N cone filter and a whap of new parts 84 GSL-SE. I sure do miss her. Anyway when I kick this in the *** and get better I'm torn between a 10th anniv. ed. and another GSL-SE. I have never had the pleasure of driving a 2nd gen and need an honest opinion which way do you think I should go? Take care

I love all gens. But the the first gen has to be the most enjoyable/fun car i have ever driven. H.P. is no substitute for the fun factor, although it helps

Thumbs up Get Well...That's an Order!

I'll tell yuh, Kyack Kanuck,

If yuh like cruisin' the distances at speed and in comfort there's few that can match the 2nd gen. Smooth, predictable, independant rear, fantastic brakes, and nice looks. If I'm doin' the Queen's Highway (17) around the top of the Big Blue, a 2nd gen would be the Cat's Meow! My youngest Son has one, and he absolutely loves it...He just rolls his eyes at my 1st gens.

Now, if you like a wee bit of retro-look, live rearend, light weight, taking the twisties, and snappin' racing changes with a bit of heel & toe, you're gonna want a 1st gen GSL-SE. A good header, a couple of intake mods, an air-dam, a spoiler or a wing, and Hot Dog, you're ready to slap leather with just about any gun-slinger!

A tip of the Stetson,
Denny, from the 'ol corncrib....

I would have to agree with the "i like all 7's" opinion. i own a 1st
gen, almost bought a 2ed gen before this one.both are great cars.
i have never driven a 3rd gen,so i don't know,if it's anything like
the rest then oboy,,tough choice's,,,,,get better soon,.,.

i was too faced with tha same problem to stick, with my dead gsl-se or get a 2nd gen. But a SE is quicker 0-60 than 2nd gen N/A, and i find it has better styling. But a turbo 2nd gen would be Kick ***. My Gsl-Se is fine now, a little ATF fixed its dead engine

How about a GSL-SE with a TII engine transplant? That's my winter project. Best of both worlds...

Take care,

I own an '84 GSL and a '90 GXL.
The 1st gen is more fun. It was also my first car. It drew more looks than my '90 and they both were equally nice condition.
I'm a little disappointed by the fun factor on my FC. It depends on what you want really.

I had to sell my car because I had to quit my job. Unfortunately I have to undergo chemotherapy treatments and many doctor visits so I need the money to survive because the good ol gov't doesn't give a whole lot to live on when your sick.

You got cancer? Dude very sorry to hear that, I'm assuming cancer because of chemo. Anyways i lost some relatives to cancer and i really hate that disease. On the lighter side, i remember a guy in my grade 10 science class who argued and believed cancer was an STD. Ah well, how old are how 7addict? I hope you make a full and speedy recovery.

Thanks for the well wish's, I do have cancer and I plan on kicking it's ***. I'm turning 31 and been dealing with this for 8 months now. Still got a bumpy road ahead of me but friends, family and keeping positive help alot. Not to mention I'm really looking forward to my next 7 when I get better. It'll be my 4th I've been driving 7s since I was 19. Take care thanks.

First of all its not free... Nothing is free, one way or another someone is paying for it... Thats socialism, everyone has to pay for everyone else and then has less for themselves.

And dude, I know we all all with you in your fight, kick its ***... I'm sure everyone here was in some way affected by cancer in their lives and we support you in every way we can. With the advances in medicine and treatments that have been made, the sucess rate is astoundingly high. Hopefully you caught it in time, and we plan on hearing stories about you tearing up the roads with the next rotary powered car you get... Good luck to you!

Get an '83 GSL, best year and model ever for RX-7s... But I might be biased... My personal opinion is this, if you can get a TII get that otherwise get an SE

Get an FC if you enjoy soldering screwed up electrical crap.

I've had 3 FCs and it gets really annoying only having one speed wipers, no rear wiper, no fuel gauge, no clock, no heat/AC control, etc.....

My -SE had a problem with the heat/ac, but the guy I sold it to found it. It was something simple. So none of my first gens have had any bullshit problems like my FC's.
