Holy Hell Guys...
Well, I just spent the past few hous re-living my RB exhaust install on my 85 GSL. Let me tell you, its a lot harder with the engine in the car, lol. The lest time I did it, the engine was hanging on a hoist for the header, then up on ramps for the pre-silencer and the rest, lol.
Anyway, I decided that since Ill be driving the 85 for a little while, I would take the old nast stock leaking clogged cat exhaust off, and just throw my RB exhaust from my car on there. Let me tell you, my engine DEFINATLY had some low compression. After installing it on this 85 (which ran as good as my 83 with all those mods), I can REALLY feel a difference. I didnt notice it as much with my 83 thats for sure.
So, I guess I just wanted to share a little about how my morning was .

Just move all the stuff from '83 to your new '85 and be happy with it!
It's true though..some engines are just quicker than the others even though they are the same.
