I'm glad to see a clean car go for a larger dollar amount. I sold my 82GS with 65k for $5k.
I like these car dealers, they get so hyped up. Rare model, rare optioned P/S. I have not come across one Ca Se that did not have P/S. I know thruout the Country that alot of members do not have p/s. Factory door locks, now this guy is getting carried away, they did not come with factory door locks. Which means it has an aftermarket alarm probably with optioned door locks. And it does not have the factory power antenna either.
I like how the ad states that it will never be worth less unless you depreciate it with poor care. Wrong, as the mileage goes up the value goes down.
Stating that it was only driven on Ca highways that have only flat and smooth roads, lol.
Give me a break, apparently this person has never driven in Southern Ca.
I think the car is a fine example of a good low mileage almost original car but the Ad has to go,lol.

i found one thing wrong with it, its not in my garage! i gotta go change my pants now, lol. that is definatly the cleanest fb i have ever seen in my life! that thing was definatly driven like the first 4 yrs or less of its life n then garaged in a dark place. either that or the person who owns it replaced every bit and peice of interior in that car. usually the shifter would be green, the e-brake handle too n the glove box ****. holy crap its sooooooo nice!!!

Lets break it down.
How much would it cost to get a car painted to original specs with no dings or dents with a flawless body?
Now, how much would it cost to get the upholstery done in original fabric with original carpeting?
See where I'm heading.
I know of guys that have spent more than that on their 7's and are not half as clean as that one. Only thing they may have over it is a streetported motor but that is not worth 7k to me.
Personally I would deduct 1k because of that rubber antenna.

ya you think they would have cleaned the engine bay a little before they snapped the pics. I think the cleanest engine bay i've seen was manntis's sweet pamela. Now that was an spectacular engine bay!

A. J., I'm not dissing the car and can't disagree with your points. I was simply comparing it to others in similiar condition and the price they have garnered. Before i would deduct fot the antennae though, I would deduct for the cloth interior.
Money invested in a build, at the rate I'm going, I wil have over 10k in mine and the paint and interior won't

i think the window sticker is a nice touch
there is a guy that lives down the street from me that has one in better condition and he wants 10k for it . it is white, red leather, ps, gsl-se, both tops, and it is all original with 33k miles on it. did i mention original owner. i have been begging him to let me take pictures.
it is nice that there are good examples stil around.

My '85 GS had 21,000 miles on it when I bought it three years ago. I paid substantially less than that. I've only driven it in the summer, but since ownership I've put on about 25,000 miles on it, had a deer run into it, my dad back into it, a curb twist the front fender, a tail light cracked by a drunk, the power antenna mast bent by a passer by. I paid more than I should have in hindsight because the car was only worth what it was in perfect shape. You can't protect a car you want to drive, it is essentially impossible.
I'm planning on having the whole car repainted now and every dent removed, after the engine doctoring and suspension. At which point it will be a weekend driver only. Even though my interior is kickass, I would have probably been better off buying a cheaper worse off rx then sunk the remainder of the money into fixing it up.
Its really only worth it if you buy a car like that and then rarely drive it, which in my opinion makes it not worth it.
side note
anyone have a front left fender close to pittsburgh.

well since we're on the subject i want to know what you guys think my car is worth... im getting ready to sell it, so i need a good estimate
its a red 1980 10th AE SA
stock everything but cd player and rear speakers
75,8XX miles on it
im the 2nd owner
garage kept, summer driven since new until last year
no major body damage( a few scratches and minor, minor dents)
runs Great when warm, rough idle when cold.....
wat do you guys think? i think the price should be up there given the fact of the AE. ive been told only 1K were sold in the US.
