2bls not working...

The honeycomb? It's not very strong. Just try shoving something long and hard in there and see if it breaks it up.

300, ouch, but then I do my own. If you're going headers, you will need a pre-silencer/mid-muffler. If you have been following the thread on the the Borla, go that route when you can afford it for a mid-muffler.

Hell, if you were closer, I could install the header and provide the Borla for less than 300. Not that tough to do. You might shop around a bit more.

I went over axle with my 3". My mid-muffler scrapes when I cross the sidewalk going in and out of the drive. You don't need to go any bigger than 2-1/4 or 2-1/2", unless you are going bp or a large turbo. Over axle is fine.

since i got no gaskets for the header

doze that sound right?

It will be cheaper to install the header now, straight pipe from there, then add a mid muffler later. Black Dragon has the big exhaust gasket for 15, if you have a single outlet header, get a stock sized metal faced gasket. If dual, buy the collector, flange and gasket.

I personally hate to pay for doing the same thing twice.

maybe you didnt understand my kiwi english

it has been stated a few times in threads that a rb header with a collector"2pipe-1pipe"
which is what i have

will fit the stock exhaust system so what i was askin is after the stock manifold conection there is another conection then it goes to the pre cat conection then cat converter etc

so im guessing the header should fit to that second joint because of the angle lenght etc

so in other words i could put the header on when i get gaskets
i know whart your saying it would be better to do the whole thing
but the american cops are ******* from my once experince and a loud exhaust ticket cost over 300$

thats a new exhaust in fines lol

i hope that makes sence
just trying to get my question across mate. no worrys
scott your allways helpfull and i really apreciate it

The headers will replace the 2 pre-cats. How it mates with the main cat varies with the type of header. If you have the dual outlet headers, you need the collector and flange, then decide if you want to run duals to the axle or single pipe it right after the header.

If noise tickets are that expensive, you WILL need a pre-silencer of some sort. If you can't afford a Borla now, at least stick a cheap glasspack in there until you can afford the Borla.
