Holly/Car cutting off under braking

Anyone have any ideas on this? Got a carb a few days back, and it seems that everytime I want to brake semi-hard it stalls out. Not good if someone pulls out in front of me and I have to hit my brakes... Any ideas on this?

No Sam, I am not gonna tinker with your carb today. Although I did have to pop the hood and pull the choke

Did you upgrade the fuel pump? I think it needs 2 lbs more pressure.

Is it only when you brake, or when you take your foot off the gas suddenly?

If it's happening when you suddenly take your foot off the gas than maybe the idle circuit is partially clogged, or possible the jets are too small. Or somethings happening during the transition stage?

I'm not familiar with the internal workings of Holley carbs, but I'm assuming they have those things :P

Is it happening in the driveway with the car parked? Clamp the booster hose to see if it's the booster or the carb. But don't drive it that way!

No, I will just be driving and then I stab at the brakes more than a third of the way and the car will just die. Scary when it dies and you lose like half your braking power.

Check your float setting. Sounds like the float may be too high and floods the engine; causing the stall. Just remove the screw to check the float height on both float bowls. When removing the screw; the fuel should barely trickle out.
