holley tbi on 12a

Has anyone tried to put a tbi unit like holley projection
an a rotary? I have 700 cfm setup on my 80, 350 blazer
and was thinking of trying it on my 84 gs 12a in place of the 390 holley i am running now. My second question is the ignition pulses, v8 has 8, rotary only 3 per rev.
I know its v6 compatible. thanks for any help

I have played with a TBI set up in place of the holley. I got impatient with it as I did not have a lot of time but it is possible to make it work.

I have discovered however that converting to a stock style FI system is easy so I went with that. (especially if you control it with a aftermarket computer.

At the shop were are pretty much able to take on such projects as we have the eqipment and know how but we never have any time dammit!

Eh? A rotary has 2 ignition pulses per rev. Same as a 4 cyl. The rotors spin at 1/3 the speed of the eccentric shaft so there's one pulse per rotor. A v8 only had 4 pulses/rev the last time I checked. Unless there's a 2-stroke v8 I wasn't aware of...

The Holley TBI system is GARBAGE, GARBAGE, GARBAGE.

Why? Basically the "computer" is a simple analog system that runs off of RPM/TPS. Doesn't take anything else into account. The TBI works great if you get a programmable fuel computer for it... but if you're going to go to that kind of trouble, you might as well get a throttle body from a junkyard, say one of the two-barrel, two-injector setups from a Chevy truck. Lots cheaper, anyway.

I've never heard of anyone who had success with the Holley unit while using the provided "controller".

Are you referring to a 13b FI system? He's talking about a 12a.

I have had the holley setup on my 80 blazer with 92 iroc 350 in it and love it. its been running for 7 years. I ts nice to drive down the road and adj it for best performance or economy. fullsize blazer 2adults 2kids
loaded with camping gear 18 to 22 mpg.
The reason is to try it on the rotary because it works well.

i am considering going this route, as now there is a fully computer programmable setup (commander 950), and i could get the 670 cfm setup. i think it has a lot of potential. anyone else hear of it?
