Holley question...13B oriented...and flames...

I posted this in the FC section but have no idea why...

Anyways...I got a new holley 650, my last one ended up smashed and this one will need to be set but I don't know how to tune one or anything...my last one I had a guy locally who loved to play with them, I'm clueless about it...anyways, to what specs should it be set?

Out of curiosity, would the dual Nikkis from a 12A flow enough to run an S4 13B propporly? I've recently come across a complete FB and might try that route until I can get everything else working decently.

Now for the ricish question...I've seen pics of NA FB's shooting flames...I know how turbo cars do it but how you guys get the FB's to do it? I'm just idiot enough to want to...(not interested in extra sparkplugs or carrying propane around...)

someone here has to know about carbs...I'm becoming especially interested in seeing if the 12A carbs flow enough to feed the larger 13B...

I' am running a holley 550 from Racing Beat on a street port 13B. Unless you are running a bridge port that's alot of carb. My primary jets are #61's. I noticed more flames when it was running richer i.e. too small of an airfilter. Now I am running a K+N 11 inch x 3.5 inch and I seemed to get the airflow back in line with the fuel flow. and dont drive to close behind kettleman he will melt your front bumper cover off.

No one knows anything about Holley's on a rotory! Atleast on the internet. I have a 600 on my street port 12a, a non rotory 600. It runs ok, but not good enough for me. I have 59 jets in my primaries and 65 jets in my secondaries. I think, from the research I have done, I need to be richer up in the rpm's. Which is where the air bleeds/air jets come into play. The bigger the main jets, the richer the low to mid rpm's and the smaller the air bleeds the richer the high rpm's are. Which is where the holleys have the problems, they dont have adjustable air bleeds. I have heard about them being tapped to make them adjustable but havent got that far in my research yet.

thanks guys! I didn't know that that would be too much carb for the car, it's not ported at all. I thought that would be the norm but I'll look into something else.

813...that's the kinna thing I'm worried about with running a typical carb off of a V8...high RPM issues. I would like to find a carb more suited to the rotory's higher RPM ranges. That's why I'm interested in learning a bit about the stock nikkis...I'd run out and find me a webber or the like if I could afford it...

The stock carbs run real good, I had a 4 port 13b that was street ported with a stock carb. I had the jets drilled out to richen it up some and ran real good. better then my street ported 12a with my Holley 600. So far anyways! Iam not giving up on my 600 yet!

A stock Nikki flows around 300cfm. Its a bit smallish for a 12A or a 13B. Itll work sure, but you wont get max power from it. 813 dont give up, try the ideas from the other threads, Im fairly confident youll get it to work.
