holley blue

How long has everybody's holley blue lasted them? Mine seems to be dying already and its not even a year old yet. Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

What direction do you have it mounted? I have heard about people having problems when it is mounted upside down or sideways. I've had mine on for about 3 months, no problems so far.

It is not loud anymore, sounds like it has slowed way down barely running. It is still pumping gas but I fear it is not enough since my car ran funny. I do have it mounted like instructions straight up and down I am going to take it off this weekend to see what is up.

It could be the wiring going bad also. Did you wire it with a relay or just use the stock wiring?

The Holly Blue draws a lot. Using the stock wires can cause the pump to overheat in side. A relay is really the way to go.

how would using a relay stop the pump from heating up???

Ive had my Blue since january, sometimes it goes really quiet. But its still fine.

Some people say that because there being regulated down from 15-4psi theres a lot of back pressure which causes wear rather quickly. I dont know if its true or not.. but its a possibility

I hope thats not true. They are too expensive to buy a new one every year. I will try and troubleshoot later on today if it stops raining.

Yeah fuel pumps are supposed to last a lot longer when using a return style regulator. I use a mallory 4309.

Using a relay will allow you to use a heavier gauge wire to the pump. The thinner wire causes resistance, which heats up the inner workings of a pump.

any one know how to run the fuel return line coming off the one fuel line with a reg and gauge?

I have been running a blue with no fuel return and it is starting to leak through the body. I have lowered the pressure at the pump(not at the reg) and now pushing only 5psi. Which has stoped the leaking, but screwed up performance. I need to run a fuel return and crank up my fuel pressure. Or if my fuel pump is shot get another one? SUCKS!

Wheres the pressure adjustment on the pump? I have been using a Holley blue and did not even know this! How far can you turn the pressure up or down?

Thanks, Ed
