Its alive,Alive Got it all all back together and it hardly smokes at all.Im getting oil in my carb but it looks like the 4 barrels are not opening all the way and it wont stay at idle unless i set it at2grand.With all of your input and my few brain cells we jump one hurdle. Thanks for all of your help but i need setting the carb now.

GOOD JOB... ok all four barrels arent gonna open unless ur realy hawlin but bc that carb is a vac secondary. meaning only 2 will open then wen u mash it and get vac pressure the other 2 will open. the best way to start tunning it i think wud be to adjust both the air and fuel mix screws all the way in then back each of them out 1/2 a turn. with ur set up after it warms up it shud idle at around 800-1000rpms. just keep backing them out til ur engine runs smooth thats all. then after ur engine is running smooth either screw in or out the idle screw. also make sure ur throttle cable is hooked up with barely any slack. i know its alot but its eay once u figure it out

i dont remember why he sold it but it dose not smoke nothing like it did.Just a little after you rev it.Problem is 1st to second mid second it falls down the pics up 3rd and on.Its not tagged yet so i cant get to 4th and go.Thingis i cant get it to idle smoth about 1000 rpms without rasing idle screw.

r u at wot when it bogs in 2nd and then only part throttle 3rd and on? how's the primary float setting? did u mention the fuel pump ur using in previous posts? the holley needs 6psi. the adjusting screws on each side of the primary metering plate r for idle mixture. did u adjust according to that previous post? turn them in til they stop but not tight, it will damage them. initial setting is out 2.5 turns. both have to be adjusted the same amount. the best way to adjust a carb is with a vac gauge, adjusting for max vac. with the engine warm and at idle, turn each mixture screw in til the rpm's start to drop, then back out 1/2 turn. do the same with the other. then u adjust the idle speed with the screw on the throttle. and double check the float levels by removing the site plug on the secondary bowl, the fitting for the omp on the primary bowl. the level should be just below the hole.

i just wish u weren't so damn far away.

If it warms up a little outside i will check the floats and mess with the air/fuel screws. As for the fuel pump if it is stock thats a 100.00 bill at least to change so that will come later.I dont want to keep flooding you guys with thanks, but thanks again!

One more prob,i messed with carb, got it to idle low, cant tell what rpm cause tach quit for some reason. When you get on it,it sputters.Could it be carb still, not enough fuel pressure?Besides that it runs like a raped ape LOl!
