Hole in block ?!
ok so i have a small hole in the block of my 12a. after the oil pan toward the rear like size of a dime or a little smaller, the motor has 50,000 on it n besides that hole is perfect, so i dont want to have to replace the block due to cost and work, is it possible to weld or metal stich this hole or anyhting else? thanks and also anyone know what size bolts to use on the thermostat housing i lost them n have to replace them, thanks for any help, tim

freeze plug?? (these are more like quarter size, though)
missing a tension bolt??
missing coolant temp sender??
Is the hole on the side of the engine or in the back (leaking where the clutch is)?
Need pics and more details (like did the engine freeze and crack?, is the hole circular (like a missing plug/sender)?, etc.).
If it is cracked, you are probably best off pulling the rear iron and swapping it. The iron is cast iron..you can weld it, but it isn't the best stuff to weld. I know that some welders won't even try to weld it.
I assume this hole is causing you to lose coolant (or is it oil coming out??)...
