hit the jack pot... but now what

i just found a once in a lifetime opportunity. i have the chance to buy a 20b that is already installed into an 89 FC with a complete standalone TEK3 ECU for 3 FREAKIN GRAND!!!! and i heard and saw it run. he is trying to get rid of the car cause he's been working on it for ever and could never get it on the road. we live in okinawa japan and the race track here is a joke, so hes never been able to get anywhere with this car and now needs the space in his garage. he's going to be keeping a few things so when i get the car it wont be running anymore, but bottom line is that i have a pot of gold for a fraction of what it would cost me. now heres the deal though, i own an 84 GSL-SE in the states and want to strip this car down and transfer everything i can to my first gen. most people are telling me to just transfer everything over to another 2nd gen when i get to the states, but they are just plain ugly and i dont want to spend the money on a car when i already have one ( plus i love my first gen.) my deal now is finding out how to get this thing t sit and bolt into my first gens engine bay. i know for sure that i have saved myself more than 10k in parts alone and only need a few key things, if any one can help me with this i would greatly appreciate it

firstly i know nothing about 20b swaps. secondly i would jump on this deal and then just ship the whole car back, that way you can have all the parts, and you can have a reference for how it worked. thats just me.

dude i just saw a first gen on ebayy with a corvete engine in it, so im sure it cant be too hard to put a 20b in come to think of it there is a blue 1st gen on youtube with a 20b in it. plus i saw a thread when i first joined the forum where someone had swapped a 2nd gen subframe into their fb so that alone could solve any problems with mounting the motor. i second the motion to shi the entire car back to the states and do a full upgrade on the 1st gen....

i dunno if anyone has done the swap yet. might be a little challenging since our cars engine mounts are in the front. so a custom engine mount, but the way its designed shouldnt be too hard. its the intake and exhuast tahts nuts. gl.

as for shipping the car i cant cause of weight issues when it comes time for all my stuff to get shipped back. it would be ideal to just pull one FC to another but i dont want to buy an FC when i get back and like i said.....they are ugly!!!! sorry if i offended any owners. anyway since im going to be pulling the stuff and putting it into a different car it makes no sense to keep the one that its in.

A three rotor in an FB sounds like a dream. All that for three thousand dollars - you'd be insane or poor to pass that up.

Also, if you can't find a means to put it in your FB, sell it to me. I'll find a way to put it in mine. I may even give you a ride in it if you pay for the plane ticket to come see it when its done.

As far as Jeff20B is concerned, search his name. You'll come up with some of the greatest information you can imagine when it comes to rotaries.

Why not "sell" the car, engine included, to a buddy of yours stateside. When it arrives, you pull the engine and put it in an FB. You've now shipped the engine, harness, etc. to the US at no cost to you.

He keeps the JDB FC engineless car, since he paid the shipping. He can then put in an FC engine with US spec emissions to get the car titled and have that MaD tYtE right hand drive, yo!

If you have the funds I would do it. Get a compression test, and make sure everything looks good.

Search.....There are a few FB's with this swap. You may have to make a craddle. Plan on a TII tranny.

Good luck.

I'm a little closer to starting my swap than you are to yours. I'm thinking some time this year. Summer perhaps.

Please do lots of research in the mean time. There's nothing worse than a noob asking too many questions. Well, at least about something this involved. Learn all you can before you turn your first wrench on this engine. You certainly don't want to break anything. 20B parts aren't cheap.
