High Oil Pressure

Ok so last night I was driving my FB and I looked at my oil pressure guage and it was quite high. Like about 3/4 of the way to the hight end. Of course this was just after I turned a corrner from a stop and had the car pritty wound out in 2nd. Now when I shifted to third the pressure did not drop too much. Normaly it stays around half way but now it stays just past half way.

The oil level is abit high on the dip stick.

I guess my question is:

How bad is too much oil?

I know its real bad in a bonger, any way. I will drain some of the oil tonight if its too high. I am also using a Mazda oil filter as well.

One other question:

How can you tell if the water oil cooler is leaking?

The rear rrotor housing is a mess, but there is never any oil on the gound under my car, so there is no obvious leak, and oil levels are normal for a rotory.

Thanks Again Guys

Clean the oil cooler and surrounding area with a good degreaser. Then go out for a good drive and check the area for leaks when you return.

I don't see whats the problem, unless the oil flow is less. Heck, the more pressure the better (well, within reason). When I cleaned the contact on the oil pressure sender I noticed that the gauge was more reponsive, and the oil pressure was generally higher than before. There's a good chance that the sender just got a better contact...

Also, I don't think a slight overfill will hurt anything, there is nothing that has to push through the oil in the pan like on a boinger.
