high beam

ok why i push the turn signal arm in to high beam all the headlights switch off. but i can still flash them. what is wrong?

indeed. if you haven't fixed the problem, remove your steering wheel and spray the crap out of your multifunction switch with dielectric grease while fliping it from hi to low...

Not dialectric grease. Electrical contact cleaner. Also, since it comes with a tube for reaching into tight places, you might be able to clean the contacts without any disassembly. Get the cleaner at Autozone, its about half the cost for a can four times the size as Radioshack...

I never could get my high beams to work, even with taking it apart and cleaning it several times. I ended up just making my own switch and mounting it in the hole where there would be a choke in a carbed car. Basically just run a wire from the battery to the switch (with fuse!) , then from switch to the high beam connector on one of the headlights. I forget which headlight I plugged it into, but it works for both of them.
