Hidden features?
1. When I had my 85's dash apart to work on the choke cable, I noticed the steering wheel frame around the ignition key has the place for a bulb. Is it hard to wire?
2. When my alarm installer had the back carpet open to connect the hatch's pin to the alarm trigger, I noticed a wire (hot when the hatch is open) and a cutout for a light. That's definitely easy to wire.
3. When I lift the coin tray under the stick, I noticed wires that go straight to the stereo. I have a joystick control from an 83 that had the better stereo package. Is that easy to add? The plugs look the same.
Are there any other hidden features that a basic model might have ready for me to find and "turn on?"
Pete

Airflow is my life
1- It shouldnt be a big deal if they gave you the socket for the peanut bulb. My GS and GSL's have the whole thing stock.
2- Same, upper models had that standard.
3- Probably but I wouldnt bother. The way it ends up is the joystick is a redundant balance and fader control and is annoying when you hit it with your elbow.
Only thing I can think of is a switch in the drivers door handle that turns on that ign lock light when the handle is lifted IIRC.

It states that you have a GSL model. The GSL came with all of the things that you are mentioning. I don't understand why you do not have them. Are you sure that you have a GSL?

and also to mention, very easy to add on. i have an 85 S that i have converted to a complete GS. i added teh mirror/map light combo, power mirrors, dead pedal, glove box light, cargo light, alpine stereo and infinity speakers(my own touch), X-pattern aluminum wheels, lock cylinder illumination, remote hatch release, and rear wiper(GSL touch there). most of the stuff you can just plug in. others you have to replace with the GS parts. but all are ready to go and pre wired and all will fit perfectly with no modification!!

No. No oil pressure sender on the SA. Just oil level. Best bet is to add an aftermarket oil pressure unit.

True, no oil pressure sender on SA's.
My SA has an 83 12a in it and there is a wire connected to it's oil pressure sender but as my SA instrument cluster has no gauge for oil pressure I was wondering if SA's were wired for oil pressure senders and if this is just another upgrade to my SA I didn't know about? Or is it a mysterious wire that does nothing?
