hi-RPM power loss, bad idle.

The minute either one of these symtoms occurs,,,replace the fuel filter by the fuel pump.
the crap in my filter was chocking the fuel flow.

I would say vaccum leak, with the rough idle, but do a rundown the fuel delivery system.

If you have a lot of crap in your tank (rust, etc.), it's absolutely possible that your filter could be clogged again...

You actually have 3 cats (unless you're an early first gen in which case you have less, but you have a thermal reactor or some such device) and yeah, they are pretty small.

funny this comes up

because over the weekend i am smelling exaust in the cabin, one time i engine braked a littl e hard and it smoked out the tailpipe an d came up in the rear of the car.

its old so i am guessing i have just found a hole in the body over the muffler I can live withthat til it warms up and hten i can fix it

but even while moving i am smelling exhaust now

so either its gettign some weird bvortext pushing the exhaust in that hole in the back or its coming in from the engine compartment

im a student right now so i was debating on how best troubleshoot this one
