Hi, new 84 gsl

Well technically it's not new..

but I wanted to say hi and that I'll probably be spending as much time here as I can get.

My name is PJ, live in Prescott AZ. Previous vehicles were 87 accord coupe 5 speed and 92 Acura Legend coupe 6 speed. I will be getting my RX7 GSL in about two weeks, first rotary ever. I'm a college student, work full time as a computer administrator, love cars.

I've been/am a member of various other forums and I gotta say I like how detailed and professional this one is. I look forward to conversing, getting/giving help.

The GSL I got is in pretty good shape. It had a 12a with about 60k miles put into it, the body itself has about 120k. The only major issue is it is completely missing the driver window, but I'm already in the process of ordering one - it'll cost $30 and shipping will be 30. Signals also have a tendency to not work, should be easy fix though. Other than that runs drives fine, but you really have to work the gas and gears to get it moving - I believe I can do some exhaust and carb work and that should help.

Anyway sorry for the long intro. Thanks in advance for all responses/replies

PJ, welcome to the forum and to the darkside!! you'll find many pleasures in owning an rx-7. you'll also fid that it will drain your bank account VERY quickly. but thats ok, the cars are worth it!! make sure you download a copy of the fsm here: http://www.wankel.net/~krwright/cars/rx7/manuals.html
oh, and dont forget to post some pics of the car!!

Welcome to the club, your impression about the quality of conversation is correct, you'll find a lot of high quality information here (and some high quality bullshit too). We'd love to see pictures, please post! Just one suggestion, get everything running properly before starting to do exhaust and carb mods, you shouldn't have to work the gas even with a strictly stock set up.

I still have your window, batt hold down, speedo cable, etc... but if you don't come get it soon it goes back in the junk trailer that has a habit of getting emptied.

Tom

"Gsl-Se 2300 lbs stripped?" Wanna bet? I've seen it and I have scales!

Heya Carl! It'll get checked out eventually, but it's taken him some time to find me. BTW, I was thinking of painting the race car yellow for next year. Can I steal the banana since you're >1K miles from here? Any thoughts on making it LOOK like a banana? (no glass w/ qtr windows covered, the dirt car)
