Hey! Just purchased 85 GSL-SE
Hello! I just bought a 1985 GSL-SE RX-7 FB(?) from my aunt. It is in beautiful condition and other than a little rust on the back, it is in mint condition. The engine only has 80k miles on it and the rotary runs great. My last car was a 1987 Toyota Corolla FX16, but its FWD layout made me bored even after i transplanted a redtop 4age motor in it. Anyways, i am utterly clueless as to teh rotarys. Performance upgrades from where i come from are "COLD AIR INTAKE, FART CAN, BODY KIT!!" and so i wanted to get some feedback from the real car enthusiasts. What are some Do's and Don'ts on the 13b? Any suggestions or anything i should watch out for? What would be the single best thing to do to the 7 other than usual babying (which i do and i have only had it for a day)? Thanks a lot guys, i look forward to your responses!

Haha... please don't take me off as a ricer. I have been working on teh car since i got it fixing everything and i pretty much got everything fixed cept for the rattling driver side mirror that i can't find a right size socket for...
But no, no performance faults. As i said it is a beauty.
YO what's up Geoff. You go to WSU? I am going there after next year ( i go to Whatcom Community College right now ). I have a very limited price range as in low cost performance, but i always want to keep my options open. I don't want any huge projects right now (like a motor swap) because i just got the car.

Got Boost?
If you can go without the emmisions equipment, I'd say go with RB headers, presilencer, and exhaust. I'm told that it gives a descent boost in power. Otherwise going with just the exhaust is an option.
Rotaries like freeflowing exhaust, but can be quite loud, and hard on exhaust, due to higher egts. Thats why the RB is a good choice..... its designed to last, be driveably quiet, as well as provide good performance.

Something like this SHOULD fit on your car. If not, it would be easy to re-drill the adapter plate.

Also, take off teh power steering, and loop the lines( i can tel you how to do this).
Take off the air conditioner as well.
Yup i'm going to WSU. I have lived in pullman all my life.
I'll talk to you on AIM.
Peace
