I like the bigger hood scoop,
But I want air forced to the carb, will this vent catch it ..and if it was reversed it will pull air from the engine bay right?

Im soryy, but that just looks bad. And I can only imagine what it would look like on a 1st gen. Now another thing with scoops on a 7, is that there aerodynamics are sop precise. Just that can screw itr up, becase either way the scoop is facing, you will be pushing more air out that pulling in.
Oh yeah, and I hope they dont drive that Eclipse on the road. Looks kinda lame!

If you turn the hood scoop around it dont look much diffrent then a TII hood
I dont know what you have in mind..I rather use this to bring air into my carb ..then to run some dryer hose to plastic pvp piping thinking its a cold air intake

when i was carbed i was going to put an oval filter on my carb and cut a whole in the hood to make it stick out.
so about 1-2" of the filter would stick out from under the hood. in my opinoin it would look cool and let the carb breath easy.

Yuk,, ! so, what you want is ... a vent, or a scoope ?
not many scoopes look good on the 1st gens. For a
scoope on the hood to function right there is more to fab. such as, the air box that is air tight when the hood
is closed. A ram air type deal on the 1st gens takes
alot of engineering to turn out right. In my case, on my
silver hood i installed a NACA duct right over the air cleaner and drilled holes in the top of the stock air box.
that wasn't the best idea. I got another hood (black)
and left it alone, on the snorkel of the stock air cleaner
i installed some IC piping and fabed. a small inlet 'scoope' at the end. that is screwed right behind
the passanger side headlight lid, then i vented the light
lid. My engine pulls air only from the outside of the engine bay. call it, cold air, fresh air, call it late for dinner,
but it works real good, and looks ok too.

Are you meaning the early scoope that sits on top of the hood. or the other NACA/vent that is flush on the hood. I have 3 of the NACA/vents from Z cars. there pretty big ,,in size though. and bolt on.
