Here's my subwoofer non-enclosure!! hahaha
I saw several threads and the amount of room others have used up with their sub-enclosures, so I thought I'd share my lack of an enclosure. It was actually very inexpensive and easy to do. I just used the rear carpet as a template and cut out a piece of particle board to form fit the floor. I then sprayed that spray foam they use to insulate houses all over the existing floor around the spare tire hole and screwed the form board in place. Cut out the hole for the speaker over the spare tire hole and mount the amp, presto your done!!!! All this behind my backseat. hehe And I still throw all kinds of stuff back there (groceries, car parts, etc.) OK, OK, technically it is a reverse enclosure, but hey you can't see it.

Actually if you get a good speaker that will work well. My friend did that with one of his subs and is slammed. It had designs and stuff onthe magnet so he flipped the magnet on the outside. It actualy hit harder than the other way. He had the amp and wires hidden though.

I didn't take any pics during the install, and since the amp and speaker are mounted through the carpet into the particle board, I can't really lift the carpet to show you. The best I can say is what was already said in my original post. Plus my application is slightly different since I have a backseat. Just be sure to mount the speaker over the spare tire hole. Dynomat might be a good idea, especially if you have the stock exhaust heat sheilds and such underneath. I had no rattles though. Oh and mount your amp as far from the sub as you can. Mine was mounted closer and the vibration from the sub broke the mounting screws a few times. Now that I'm thinking about it, this may be a bad idea for a car with the storage pockets, cause it will rattle like hell with that metal pocket framing back there. Hope that helped!

whoa...the stuff I carry at times in the back would tear that **** right out..not to mention the 'here I am steal me' system
such a simple setup should've spent more on the sub
makes the smashed rear window more acceptable in the end

I would suggest getting something that has designs on the magnets like audiobahn has. They have speakers with flames and make it look a lot better when you have the magnet sticking out. You can always go with a speaker that has a better looking magnet that is chrome or something. It doesn't have to have designs, it is all in your taste on look.

Dude, I have no idea what you are talking about???? First of all, this is not my daily driver, its covered in my garage. Second, the sub is a Ferenheit, its from Germany, and it's dual voice coil and cost about $300. How can you comment on the quality when you don't know what you're talking about and you haven't heard it?

Maybe you couldn't tell from the pic, but the magnet is chrome!

i think id rather go fro the dual 8's by the tailights... that way no "see me steal me" deal. and i dont really need that much bass in my car anyways... except from the exhaust.
