Mazda Seat Belt - Not Locking

Hi All,

I am a newbie online here and have really appreciated the threads and great help on the forum but so far I have not come across any wise words on the problem that I have with my seat belts.

I am working to get my car on the road for June to do some Solo and have discovered that the mechanism that stops your seatbelt in the event of a quick stop does not function. I have take the recoil mechanism off the car (works fine to recoil the belt) to look at it and when it is off - the thing works but does not allow the belt out at all....when it it on the car...it lets the belt out but will not stop it (ahhhh)

Hoping someone else has had similar experiance and that I can fix it without shelling out $520 for 2 Mazda belts...money I would rather spend on other goodies.

just get a nice 4 point harness...(or a cheep1) and take the old seat belt out

1.)remove old belt all together save hardwere
2.)run sholder hanress under headrest
3.)bolt harness to factory location
3a.) you can either bolt sholder harness at the top
3b.)bolt it to the same spot on the floor as the lap part <---if it can reach bolt it here

much cheeper then $520 and you will fell like you are glued to the seat

just remember to have them tight or they wont do much good in stoping you

cheers PaTricK
