help!! it wont go into REVERSE...
I tried and tried, I put it into other gears, checked the gear oil, and i cant figure it out. It wont go into reverse. Anyone have this problem. It was fine when I took it out of my old car.
When I put my new clutch kit in, I put the car in gear and jacked the rear end up in the air. Then I started the car, in 1st gear, and let it run for a bit and then hit the brakes. If you push the clutch in, you should be able to shift into any gear. Try it out in reverse.

I'm confused, your saying that pushing in the clutch will enable you to shift into any gear, umm... thats what normally happens. Why would the rear have to be jacked up for any of this? I must be missing something.
I had this problem once, ended up being a penny stuck under the shift boot causing it to not go in reverse. Found out at the most inopertune time too, I was out fooling around with some friends drag racing out in the country and lo and behold, here comes the sheriff out of know were!!!. Me and this guy were already going at it when he turns his lights on, and I was like ****!! slammed on the brakes, went to turn around, ****!!! NO REVERSE!! I got real lucky on that one, he let us off with a warning because he says technically i'm not in my jurisdiction. He said he had been watching us there for a few weekends now just sitting near a electrical substation with night vision goggles. That was the last time I ever street raced again. this was 3-4 yrs ago. lol

After I installed the clutch kit, I couldn't get the clutch to disengage when pressing the pedal. So I jacked the rear end up and started the car in 1st gear. Then I pushed in the clutch (this didn't stop the wheels from turning, as it normally does) and lightly applied the brakes. Snap! The clutch disengaged and I could now shift into any gear using the clutch. The reason why it was sticking was that the pilot bearing that I used had a really tight fit. Anyway, no harm done and it works like a charm.
